Rudy Colombini is a lifelong San Francisco resident, local rock legend, and cultural powerhouse on a mission to turn his hometown back into a city that launches stars and builds sustainable careers for musicians. Honored by CBS as a Bay Area Icon and celebrated with “Rudy Colombini Day,” Rudy has spent 50+ years performing across the Bay Area, charting three Top 40 hits, and sharing stages with legends like Elton John, Journey, and Train.
He is the visionary founder and developer of Music City San Francisco—now The Starfactory—the world’s first-ever music star factory, designed to incubate, accelerate, and sustain today’s musicians. Across five stories, The Starfactory fuses education, rehearsal, recording, live performance, and broadcast media, creating a 360° launchpad for the next generation of artists, while energizing tourism, supporting local small businesses, and transforming San Francisco into a global music destination.
Rudy is also President of the award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit Music City Artist Development, ensuring that artistry and sustainability go hand in hand.
